Sometimes, intensive lifestyle changes can result in being able to stop some long-term medicines. This is called remission - for example "remission of Type-2 diabetes".
Remission of long-term conditions means normal blood tests despite stopping medicines. This can sometimes be achieved with intensive lifestyle changes in the early stages of chronic diseases such as obesity, high blood pressure, Type-2 diabetes, fatty liver disease, depression and anxiety. Some early research suggests that some low-grade early stage cancers may be put into remission or progression could be stopped with similarly intensive lifestyle changes.

In my experience, many people I see feel they are on too many long-term medicines but still want to keep their blood sugar, cholesterol and blood pressure in healthy ranges to prevent ill health in the future.
