Menopause

Hormone changes around the menopause and the peri-menopause can lead to problems with sleep, mood regulation, temperature regulation (hot flushes & sweats) as well as weight gain and increases in other health risks. Some people also experience reduced tolerance to exercise, worsening of migraines and autoimmune diseases as well as joint pains,  fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue. Replacing body identical hormones, for many women, provide health benefits which outweigh risks.

Your appointment to assess menopause/peri-menopause issues

Sex hormones oestrogen, progesterone and testosterone impact the whole body so a holistic approach is important. We will assess your lifestyle, family history and medical background to find the right type and dose of hormones for you. We can also discuss non-hormonal approaches to managing menopause symptoms.

Assessment

We will assess your lifestyle, family history and medical background. This includes a lifestyle medicine assessment, body composition analysis, metabolic risk markers and hormone tests if needed. We can also test markers of ovarian reserve if you are concerned about fertility and discuss your contraceptive options.

Treatment options

We can discuss and prescribe the safest and most effective HRT options for your needs as well as lifestyle and non-hormonal options.
