Sleep
Sleep problems are common, particularly during periods of stress, if you're struggling with excess weight, alcohol, low mood or the perimenopause. Sleeping tablets aren't a great option and have many risks and side effects. However, there are many other alternatives to explore including interventions to reduce stress, improve nutrition, some supplements, to lose weight, address sleep apnoea and the menopause.

Your appointment to help address sleep issues
We can assess your sleep patterns, drivers of poor sleep including prescribed medications, weight and stress.
Assessment
We will assess nutrition, body composition and weight, perform sleep apnoea screening and referral for testing if required. We can also assess your hormone status and whether HRT may help improve your sleep. We can review harmful substances and prescribed medicines and discuss whether these may be impacting sleep.
Treatment options
We can create a plan for slowly down titrating medicines that may be worsening your sleep, create a lifestyle medicine plan for sleep improvement, prescribe HRT if needed and discuss what supplements may be safe and effective if needed. We can refer to CBT for insomnia if needed.
